Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Media Availability and Event Schedule at Singapore Airshow 2020

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the world’s largest, most comprehensive institution of higher learning specializing in aviation and aerospace, will participate for the eighth consecutive year in the Singapore Airshow 2020 on Feb. 11-16 at the Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore.

Throughout the week, university representatives and leadership as well as faculty, students, graduates and special guests will be at the Embry-Riddle Chalet at CD13 and Aero Campus at C05.


- Tuesday, (Feb. 11)
4 p.m. at Chalet – Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Embry-Riddle Asia and PT Aviasi Direcktori Indonesia, a consulting organization for aviation services and business in Indonesia. This MoU outlines the collaboration between both organizations in relation to the offering of short courses for the Indonesia aviation industry.

- Wednesday (Feb. 12)
o 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Chalet – Developing Women in Aviation Leadership and Management Workshop, a collaboration between Embry-Riddle Asia and Developing Global Leaders Asia. In this interactive workshop, participants will prepare an elevator speech for use in various networking situations, create a career stakeholder map to help navigate their professional journey and discuss how to leverage mentors and sponsors to achieve their goals.
o 3:15 p.m. at CAAS Pavilion – Signing of Annex to existing MoU between Embry-Riddle and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on collaboration to offer aviation-related short courses.

- Thursday (Feb. 13)
o 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Chalet – STEM Education – More Than Just Coding and Fixing Light Bulbs, presented by Chester Low, Senior Manager, STEM Inc. Science Center Singapore. Learn more about STEM Education from Chester, which oversees the STEM Applied Learning Programmes (ALP) in Singapore.
o 1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. at AeroCampus - UAV/ Drone Career Talk at Aero Campus, presented by David Cirulli. Learn more about opportunities in the rapidly growing industry.
o 2 p.m. – 3 p.m, at Chalet – Design Thinking for Flight Safety User Lab, presented by Embry-Riddle Asia UNIV 101 Students. The objective of this design thinking in aviation lab experience is to enhance the future of flight safety without compromising a passenger’s comfort within the aircraft. Student designers will present on how they have utilised design aspects to improve the current in-flight safety.
o 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at The Great Room Centennial Tower (3 Temasek Avenue, Level 18, Centennial Tower, Singapore 039190). Embry-Riddle Asia Campus will host an Alumni and Friends of the University reception. This is expected to be the campus' largest alumni gathering to date, following the recent commencement ceremony which brought the total number of Embry-Riddle Asia students receiving degrees to more than 500 since the campus’ first commencement ceremony in 2012. This event is closed to the public, but media are invited to attend (contact information below).
o MoU discussion between Embry-Riddle Asia and Science Centre Singapore on out-of-classroom programs to help enrich students’ educational experience.

- Friday, (Feb. 14)
1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. at AeroCampus – Setting Yourself Up for Success in the Aviation Industry Talk, presented by Embry-Riddle Asia. Find out how your choice of education helps to set you up for success in the future.

- NOTE: Starting Thursday, Feb. 13 through Sunday, Feb. 16, Embry-Riddle Asia also will have a presence in the Singapore Airshow Aero Campus (SAAC) – an area devoted to aspiring aviation professionals of tomorrow who want to learn about developments in the aviation and aerospace industry and explore higher education and career opportunities in the aerospace and aviation sector.
